AJ Green fantasy – out for game with toe injury, has turf toe

AJ Green

For the first time in his career, AJ Green registered a catchless game.

Green entered Sunday’s game between the Bengals and Falcons with a right toe injury and was not able to play through it. He tried to block on a running play but aggravated the injury and pointed to the sidelines to indicate he needed to come out.

Shortly thereafter, the Bengals announced Green would be out for the rest of the game, which is a huge blow to them and fantasy teams. Green’s injury was later reported to be turf toe, which is an injury that often sticks with a player for multiple weeks.

Without Green, the fantasy receivers who will see more action are Mohamed Sanu, Jeremy Hill, Brandon Tate and Dane Sanzenbacher. The Bengals like to dump off to Gio Bernard and utilize their tight ends, so we’re not expecting huge numbers for their receivers not named AJ Green.

AJ Green Hail MaryThe Cincinnati Bengals connected on a Hail Mary Sunday to tie their game with the Baltimore Ravens at 17 as time expired in the fourth quarter.

Cincinnati had a 4th-and-15 with two seconds left after being sacked on third down. They had the ball at their 49 and put Andy Dalton in the shotgun. Dalton heaved a pass to the goal line that got batted around and eventually passed in the air to A.J. Green, who came down with the 51-yard touchdown catch. With the extra point, they tied the game.

James Ihedigbo is the one who will be criticized for the play; he pushed the ball up instead of knocking it down, giving Green the chance to make the catch.

This really has not been the Ravens’ season, but luckily they won 20-17 in overtime.

AJ Green has sick custom Bengals cleats

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver AJ Green could have the best-looking feet on the field in Week 1. Thanks to an amazing artist from Dez Customz, it appears Green will be rocking an incredible pair of tiger-themed cleats for his team’s opener against the Chicago Bears.

According to Sneaker Files, Green personally requested the new kicks. They feature the Bengals team colors in addition to actual characteristics of a tiger with an eye looking out the side of the shoe. Green’s name is stitched across the back of the cleats. Here are a couple more pictures:

AJ Green shows off his juggling skills after Bengals’ win

aj-green-jugglingA.J. Green is one of the top wide receivers in the NFL, and he also might be one of the best jugglers in the league.

The Cincinnati Bengals’ second-year receiver had six catches for 57 yards and a touchdown in his team’s 34-13 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday. Upon arriving at NFL Network’s postgame set to talk about the win, Green was greeted with a request from host Rich Eisen to show off his juggling skills.

Green happily obliged and put on a show by juggling three oranges. He even mixed in a tangerine for a brief moment as he juggled four pieces of fruit.

Green has actually been juggling for most of his life. He says he started when he was in first grade, and he joined his elementary school’s juggling team when he was in second grade.

“That helped with my hand-eye coordination a lot,” he told the media while he was at Georgia. “I can juggle, like, four balls. I can juggle everything –- pens, bowling pins, whatever.”

Green says he stopped juggling in fifth grade because he didn’t think it was cool. But it did help him with his football career.

“When the football is in my area, that is all I see — I don’t care what is around me. It just comes natural,” Green said before the draft last year.

Green has since come back around on juggling and says it’s cool again.

He showed off some of his tricks in a video posted by Gatorade last April:
