Tony Stewart wants Danica Patrick to cram it up Richard Petty’s butt

danica-patrickTony Stewart has a plan for how Danica Patrick can prove Richard Petty wrong. Last week, the man known to many as the “King of NASCAR” said the only way Patrick will ever win a race is if she’s the only one on the track. Stewart, who is Patrick’s employer and teammate with Stewart-Haas racing, thinks Danica should challenge the old man.

“I think that (a race) would settle it once and for all — maybe get him to shut up a little bit, too,” Stewart said Wednesday, via USA Today Sports. “… I will supply the cars. If he wants to race her, I’ll make sure they have exactly the same setup in the car and give him the chance. He can drive one of my 14 cars, I don’t care.”

When someone joked that Patrick should take the checkered flag to Petty for an autograph after beating him, Stewart said he had a better plan.

“If I were her, I’d take if over there and cram it up his (butt),” he said. “But that’s just me.”

Stewart also said that the 76-year-old Petty underestimates how much NASCAR has changed since he raced and that it is much harder to win now than it was 40 years ago. Patrick has one top-10 finish in her career. She did not take the bait when asked about Petty’s criticism last week.

“People have said things in the past, they’re going to say things in the future,” Patrick said. “I still say the same thing: Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion. People will judge what he said, whether they judge it well or not, and I’m just not going to (judge).

“The people that matter the most to me are my team, my sponsors and those little 3-year-old kids that run up to you and want a great big hug and say they want to grow up to be like you. That’s the stuff I really focus on.”

Make it happen. Who wouldn’t watch that race? I bet even people who hate NASCAR would tune in.

Danica Patrick nip slip accidentally posted on SI Swimsuit website (NSFW)

Sports Illustrated gave everyone quite the show last week when the website’s Swim Daily division accidentally — or so they claim — posted a revealing photo of Danica Patrick. The photo was a selfie that Danica had taken back in 2008 when she was shooting for the SI Swimsuit Issue. It was posted for “Throwback Thursday,” and it showed everyone her nipple.

An uncensored version of the photo, which is obviously NSFW, can be seen after the jump.

Richard Petty: Danica Patrick will only win if she races by herself

danica-patrickSome would argue that it is only a matter of time before 31-year-old Danica Patrick becomes the first ever woman to win a NASCAR race. Patrick became the first woman to win the pole at Daytona last year and went on to finish eighth, which was the only top-10 finish of her career. Legendary stock car driver Richard Petty can’t envision it getting much better than that.

During an interview with Norris McDonald at the Canadian Motorsports Expo on Sunday, Petty was asked if he thinks Patrick will ever find herself celebrating on Victory Lane.

“(Only) if everybody else stayed home,” he said, via the Canadian website Wheels. “If she’d have been a male, nobody would ever know if she’d showed up at a race track. This is a female deal that’s driving her. There’s nothing wrong with that, because that’s good PR for me. More fans come out, people are more interested in it. She has helped to draw attention to the sport, which helps everybody in the sport.”

The 76-year-old Petty is a part owner of Richard Petty Motorsports, so any attention the sport receives can be seen as a positive for him. Petty’s son Kyle had even harsher criticism of Patrick last year when he called her a “marketing machine” but said she will never be a race car driver.

For whatever reason, the Pettys don’t seem to like or respect Danica. I’m sure those feelings are mutual.

Danica Patrick dressed as showgirl at American Country Awards

Danica Patrick was one of the hosts of the American Country Awards on Tuesday night, and she provided viewers with some entertaining moments. One of them came when Patrick took the stage dressed as a showgirl.

About halfway through the show, which has held at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas, Patrick performed on stage with a group of dancers. She then joked about her lack of assets.

“The thing about me, there’s not chance of a wardrobe malfunction. There’s not much to malfunction,” Patrick said to the delight of the crowd. “I hope that little bit didn’t fall flat.”

We like you just the way you are, Danica. Well, except when you and your boyfriend can’t take a joke. That gets kind of uncomfortable.

Danica Patrick, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. didn’t find Jay Mohr joke to be funny (Video)

Talk about an awkward moment.

Jay Mohr hosted the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards Ceremony on Friday in Las Vegas, and things became uncomfortable after he told a Danica Patrick joke.

“Danica, I hope you’re not too uncomfortable tonight. I know you’re not used to being this close to the front,” Mohr joked.

The audience was taken aback by the shot at Patrick, and you could tell that neither Patrick nor boyfriend Ricky Stenhouse Jr. were amused. Just look at Stenhouse’s stone-cold glare:

Mohr quickly tried to defend himself by noting it was a comedy show and he’s supposed to tell jokes. When that didn’t work, he attempted to smooth things over with some praise of Patrick. That didn’t work either.

Later, still apparently stung by the jab, Patrick referenced Mohr while accepting a fans award.

“I have amazing fans … and I think it’s pretty safe to say Jay Mohr is not one of them,” she said.

That line prompted Mohr to make another effort to smooth things over. His last attempt seemed to finally thaw some of the iciness.

I’m a fan of Mohr’s comedy and don’t have a problem with him telling a Danica joke, but that one was just too easy. He can do much better. As for Danica, well, she’s notoriously thin-skinned, so you have to be delicate when dealing with her. Otherwise you’re going to end up with her giving you the “not impressed face.”

Danica Patrick: Tony Stewart off the meds and back to life

Tony StewartTony Stewart is out at least the next month — and likely longer — as he recovers from a broken leg suffered during a crash at Southern Iowa Speedway on Aug. 5. Though Stewart needs to take extensive care of himself while recovering, Danica Patrick makes it sound like her Stewart-Haas Racing boss/teammate is improving.

“I’ve heard he’s kind of getting back in the game, you know,” Patrick said Friday at Michigan International Speedway, per USA Today Sports. “He wants to know everything that’s going on. He wants to be able to hear what we’re doing. He’s off the meds and back to life again.”

Patrick had been communicating with Stewart via text message while he was in the hospital recovering. Stewart-Haas competition director Greg Zipadelli has also been in contact with Stewart and says Smoke is still in a lot of pain. He also says that the recovery process will be slow.

“We’ve been working under the assumption that he’s out for the next month or so, or longer,” Zipadelli said Friday, via ESPN. “He went to the doctor this week, he had a decent visit — no setbacks. … I saw him on Wednesday night, and we spent some time together. … He’s in great spirits. He’s going through a transition period. The next seven to 14 days will tell a lot about how [the leg] heals, whether things take. We’ll update you guys as we can, but it’s going to be a really slow process.”

Austin Dillon is racing in Stewart’s place on the team for the time being. He finished 14th at the Pure Michigan 400 on Sunday and 21st in Saturday’s Nationwide Series race. Nobody can come close to replacing Stewart both for his racing ability and personality around the track.

Danica Patrick dishes on relationship with boyfriend Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

Danica Patrick Ricky Stenhouse JrDanica Patrick and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. are the only couple of their kind. Never before have two racers on NASCAR’s Sprint Cup circuit — to our knowledge — entered into a romantic relationship. One would think that racing against each other on the weekends while going on dinner dates during the week would be complicated, but Patrick and Stenhouse make it sound simple.

For starters, they have figured out how to consolidate space on race weekends. Patrick and Stenhouse, who were described as “inseparable” in a recent feature by USA Today Sports, use one of their motor homes at the track for living and sleeping and the other for Patrick to cook some of her best dishes.

“Does it worry me at all being together so much? No, because we’re worse apart,” Patrick told USA Today. “We’re much better together.

“I mean, we’re apart for at least four hours on Sundays. But I’m still as close as anyone can get to him that whole time.”

Patrick and Stenhouse are both ranked outside the top 20 of the Sprint Cup standings, so there’s no telling what could happen if they were ever battling each other for spots in the top 10 or had to square off in the Chase for the Sprint Cup. Judging by some of the sacrifices they have made for one another, my guess is they would find a way to make it work.
