Maybe I have to play football at a high level to fully understand this, but I really can’t wrap my brain around how players keep dropping the ball before they cross the goal line. The latest inexplicable brain toot came from Texas Tech running back DeAndre Washington in a 20-10 win over TCU on Thursday night.
Washington made a nice play to reel in a deflected screen pass in the fourth quarter and take it 49 yards for a touchdown. It appeared he had given his team a 17-10 lead when the officials signaled for a score, but upon further review it was determined that Washington let go of the ball before crossing the plane.
