Video: Ryan Braun Falls Rounding Third, Misses Inside-the-Park Home Run

Ryan Braun is one of the most talented players in baseball. He has a good throwing arm, he hits for power, and he has speed on the bases. Unfortunately the speed doesn’t really matter if he can’t stay upright. Witness:

Hey, at least he got an RBI triple out of it, right? Pretty difficult to imagine that’s the same coordinated being who has posted 25 home runs and 31 stolen bases this season.

UPDATE: Braun’s teammates had some fun with him the following day, as you could imagine

Adam McQuaid Check Fail Results in Injury (Video)

David Krejci was the hero for the Bruins Monday night when he netted the game-winner in overtime to give Boston a 2-0 series lead over the Flyers.  The real star of the game, however, was Tim Thomas.  His career high 52 saves — including 22 in the third period alone — kept the Bruins in the game and allowed them to put Philly away in OT.  I don’t need to explain why the 2-0 series lead means nothing for Boston when it comes to this particular opponent, do I?

While the Bruins pulled out a huge win, it wasn’t all sunshine and farts for every member of their team.  Defenseman Adam McQuaid went for a huge hit on Philly’s Scott Hartnell in the first period and ended up knocking himself out of the game.  It was one of the ugliest failed checks I’ve ever seen.  Check out the Adam McQuaid check fail video:

McQuaid was able to leave the ice under his own power, but I think it’s safe to say his dome will be hurting tomorrow. Glad to see he was alright after the nasty collision with the boards.

Preston Knowles Dunk Fail (Video)

UConn made history Saturday night when it pulled off the seemingly impossible: five wins in five days in the best conference in America.  As expected, their game with Louisville came right down to the wire, thanks in large part to the three-point shooting of Preston Knowles which kept the Cardinals in the game.  That same Knowles, however, may have had the most embarrassing moment of the night in the first half.  Check out the Preston Knowles dunk fail video:

He had to have been fouled, right?  Everyone assumed UConn guard Donnell Beverly clipped Knowles’ foot on the way up, until an overhead replay showed that he wasn’t touched.  Just tired legs, maybe?  That didn’t seem to be a problem for Kemba Walker (19 points, 3 steals) and the rest of the Huskies, who were playing in their fifth straight game as compared to Louisville’s third.  UConn’s Big East tournament run has bumped them from a No. 6 seed to a No. 2 seed in Joe Lunardi’s latest edition of Bracketology, and they’ll certainly be a team to keep an eye on when The Dance begins.

Video: Andre Iguodala Dunk Fail

Sixers forward-guard Andre Iguodala is about as talented a player one can be without being a superstar.. He’s played, and played well, for USA Basketball in the FIBA World Championships. Including this season in which he’s missed some games due to injuries, Iguodala has played in all 82 games five times in his seven years in the NBA. He’s long, athletic, and he finished second in the NBA Dunk Contest in just his second season — a contest many believe he deserved to win. But Tuesday night against the Hawks, Iguodala had an embarrassing moment on a break away dunk attempt:

What might be better than the miss is the play-by-play guy’s pronuciations of Iguodala and “embarrassin’.” I realize there are differently levels of broadcaster, but shouldn’t a basic requirement be an ability to speak well?

Rangers Center Dale Weise Gatorade Squirt Fail (Video)

I guess you can say it was just one of those nights for New York Rangers call-up center Dale Weise. As if it wasn’t bad enough that he had a goal waved off when the refs determined he kicked it into the net, someone played a prank on Weise when he returned to the bench. Or at least it certainly looks like a prank to me. If not, he really did have a rough night. Check out the Dale Weise Gatorade fail video, courtesy of Deadspin:

Antoine Walker Free Throw Fail (Video)

Antoine Walker just wants to make some money.  He filed for bankruptcy about six months ago so he’s looking to resurrect his NBA career in some way.  Walker recently signed a five-figure contract with the Idaho Stampede of the NBA D-League.  In his debut Wednesday night, Antoine scored 13 and supposedly looked solid considering how out of shape he is.  There was no Walker Wiggle, but there was an embarrassing free throw.  Check out the video of Antoine Walker airballing a free throw, courtesy of Deadspin via YouTube user outsidethenba:

We’re told Walker also missed by about three feet on one of his infamous three-point attempts (of which he missed all three), so obviously there’s some work to be done.  Give him some credit for getting back after it, I guess?

Video: MMA Fighter Backflip Epic Fail

One could argue that everyone loses in an MMA fight.  Most of the time even when you win, you lose.  If you go three rounds with a guy and get your face pummeled enough that you have to immediately report to the hospital following the fight, you’re losing something even if you win.  If you can’t pull off a celebratory back flip and the result is a six-foot free fall onto your back, you lose even more.  Check out this MMA fighter backflip fail video, courtesy of Sportress of Blogitude:

I guess this guy needs to add the top-of-the-cage backflip to his next training regimen.  Either that or he should probably stop trying it, because that wasn’t even close.
