Australian shooter Russell Mark has to wear Borat mankini to Olympic opening ceremonies because of lost bet

And the award for best-dressed athlete at the London Olympics opening ceremonies goes to … Russell Mark. How do we know that already? The Australian shooting gold medalist recently lost a bet, and as a result he is required to parade at the opening ceremonies in a lime-green mankini similar to the one Sacha Baron Cohen wore in the movie “Borat” several years ago.

According to the Telegraph, the bet revolved around an Australian rules football match. Mark promised that he would wear the swimsuit if Carlton lost its Australian Football League match to St. Kilda and sure enough — well, you know.

“Oh, I must’ve been intoxicated,” the 48-year-old Mark said Tuesday. “Carlton promise so much and just deliver so little. It kills me.”

“Anyway, a lot of people would think a mankini might look better than the uniform they’ve nominated for us, so I don’t know if it’s such a bad thing.”

Russell Westbrook wears terrible shirt and glasses after Thunder win (Picture)

Apparently this is the way to make a statement in the 2012 postseason. With the way he performed in Oklahoma City during Game 1 on Monday night, Russell Westbrook can wear anything he wants to his postgame press conference. The Thunder guard scored 27 points to go along with nine assists and seven rebounds in a dominant 119-90 victory. If you’re going to commit a fashion violation, I suppose that is the time to do it.

Those are fishing lures, right? And I’m guessing those glasses have no lenses in them. To be honest, the more I look at this the more I kind of think it’s a boss move. I’ll take Westbrook’s postgame attire over the awful look Nick Young was sporting during the first round any day.

Tom Brady’s new weird hair style featured a pompadour-like faux-hawk (Picture)

The Patriots haven’t won a Super Bowl since the 2004 season, and there are many suggestions why. Their defense isn’t as good. It’s karma for spygate. They’ve gotten too cocky. I’ve heard all the excuses. But I think we can zero-in on the real answer: Tom Brady becoming too fashion-conscious.

Brady attended the Met Gala in New York City on Monday night along with wifey Gisele Bundchen, and he drew plenty of attention for his new hair style. Brady was wearing some sort of pompadour-faux-hawk hybrid cut, which was different from the way his hair was styled at the Kentucky Derby over the weekend. Brady’s hair mohawked, but only on the side of his head, kind of like a pompadour, or a gumby, if you will. To be truthful, it wasn’t as bad as the ponytail look he had for Carnival in Rio last year, but it was bad.

Brady’s been called out by teammates for his girly hair, and even Justin Bieber has called him out, too.

Tom has the kind of good looks that land him a wife like Gisele. Why mess it up with such awful hair styles like this?

Nick Young wears one of the ugliest shirts you’ll ever see (Picture)

After the Clippers huge overtime win against the Grizzlies on Monday night that gave them a 3-1 series lead, Nick Young decided to play a practical joke on the media. Do we know for sure that it was a practical joke? Absolutely not, but we’re trying to convince ourselves that that was the case. As you can see from the photo above, Young took the podium wearing one of the ugliest shirts you’ll ever see. When Chris Paul pointed out that it was Young who got the Clippers going with a big three-pointer, Nick credited his post-game wardrobe selection.

“It’s the shirt, man,” Young said with a smile.

“What do you want me to say?” Paul said when a reporter asked for his thoughts on the shirt. “All I’m saying is you’ve got to feel pretty good about yourself to wear that shirt.”

With everyone in the media howling, Young then got up and gave his seat to Blake Griffin, who was dressed in a standard shirt, tie, and sport coat. Griffin may have scored 30 points to Young’s nine, but Young left more of a lasting impression with the ridiculous shirt. Outfits like this one tend to have that effect on people.

Martell Webster’s hair is getting out of hand (Pictures)

Timberwolves swingman Martell Webster has been rocking a funky ‘do for a bit now, but it only came to my attention recently. He’s got the sides shaved and the top long in stringy tight curls. Some people may like it, but then you have guys like Phoenix analyst Eddie Johnson, who said commissioner David Stern needed to step in and do something about it. I agree — the Class Act/Coolio cut went out 20 years ago, no sense in bringing it back, Martell.

Carlos Boozer spray-painted his hair for Bulls-Celtics game (Picture)

It’s not often that we have to bust out the fashion police here at LBS, but Carlos Boozer’s spray paint job on his head Sunday definitely called for it. We have no idea if he lost a bet or if he thought nobody would notice, but we did. It takes a pretty awful haircut to become a trending topic on Twitter, so congrats on that, Carlos.

For comparison, below is a shot of how Boozer’s hair normally looks.

Josh Freeman Fro Is Getting Pretty Crazy

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Josh Freeman is pretty unique, and it’s not just because of all the success he’s had as a young quarterback. He’s one of the few athletes left that still proudly rocks an exceptional fro. The impressive Josh Freeman fro was on full display Thursday when he joined Jim Rome is Burning on ESPN:

I don’t mind the look at all, but I think it’s getting somewhat out of hand. Not this bad, but it’s getting out there. After Freeman cleared the set, Houston Texans running back Arian Foster stepped up with Rome. When Rome mentioned how big Freeman is, Foster offered up this completely on his own “I dunno about his hairdo though, that’s not my style.” Ouch. I’m guessing Freeman will keep that in mind if the teams meet next season.

So what do you think, should the fashion police arrest Freeman or not?
