Johnson finished fifth and lost his Sprint Cup Series points lead after a frustrating race at Martinsville Speedway on Sunday. As he was speaking with reporters on pit road after the race, an enraged Biffle came strolling over, grabbed Johnson by the shoulder and spun him around. Looking stunned, Johnson calmly placed his hand on Biffle’s chest.
“Hey, you (expletive) ripped off my rear bumper, you (expletive),” Biffle barked at Johnson, via USA Today Sports. “You (expletive) ran into the back of me!”
At some point during the race, Johnson made contact with the back of Biffle’s car. Johnson admitted that, but he didn’t think he did anything wrong. Replays actually show that it might have been Dale Earnhardt Jr’s car that damaged Biffle’s bumper.
“We made contact, but I couldn’t understand why he was down here pulling on my collar like he just did,” Johnson said. “We’ll get it sorted out.”
Biffle saw things differently.
“If he’s running for the title, he better not tear my rear bumper cover off, because that’ll be his last race he finishes,” Biffle told reporters. “The guy tore my rear bumper cover off and I had to pit when we were planning on staying out and I had to go to the tail end of the longest line. That’s why I was upset about it.”
Man do I love when NASCAR goes WWE. These guys are a riot. At least no one’s dad had to get involved this time.
