Ukraine Goalie Evgeny Tsaregorodtsev Goes Crazy During Fight (Video)

Guess what? Ukrainian athletes freak out too. It isn’t just the Ron Artests and Yadier Molinas of the world that go ballistic during a game — it happens overseas, too.  I’m not really sure if we should file this under hockey fights or just plain meltdowns.  Aside from the bashing of the stick over someone’s head, the latter is probably more appropriate.  Check out this Ukraine goalie, Evgeny Tsaregorodtsev, fight video, courtesy of CBSSports.com’s Eye on Hockey blog:

This is one of those productions where you have to wonder if it was mostly for show or if someone could actually stay fired up for that long.  Since I know absolutely nothing about either team nor the league they play in, I can’t say.  What I can confidently say is that we’re glad it happened.

Jim Jorgenson vs. Judd Blackwater Hockey Fight (Video)

If you are a big hockey fan, you probably know that leagues like the AHL and ACHL are known for having some pretty sick hockey fights.  Players tend to play like they have more to prove than NHL guys, and that can lead to tempers flaring and an abundance of dust-ups.  Rarely do we get to see a knockout like the one that occurred during Wednesday night’s game between the ACHL’s Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs and the Allen Americans.  Check out the Jim Jorgenson vs. Judd Blackwater fight video, courtesy of Barstool Sports:

If Mick were in Jorgenson’s corner for that one we would have heard “Down, kid! Stay down!” The difference between Jim and Balboa is Jorgenson should have stayed down. That, and Rocky was a movie. Those punches actually hurt.

Must-See Crazy KHL Fight Video

The only way you’ve ever seen anything like the fight video you’re about to see is if you’ve watched Slap Shot before. Thing is that was only a movie — the KHL brawl between Vityaz Chekhov and Avangard Omsk happened in real life. The first part of the video was somewhat light. Around the 1:40 mark is where things get really heavy. Again, this is the Kontinental Hockey League featuring former NHL star Jaromir Jagr so you know it’s a legit league. Without further ado, here’s the vid:

According to the NY Times, 691 penalty minutes were handed out to 30 players. No surprise they had to suspend the game because neither team had enough players to continue. I have never seen anything like that in a real game before. If the league takes discipline seriously, they’ll probably be setting records with length and amount of fines. Unfreakingbelievable.
