Darrell Montague got his world rocked on Saturday night in a first-round knockout loss to John Dodson at UFC 166 in Houston. The two were on the ground and it looked like the fight might be called, but it wasn’t. After they got back on their feet, Dodson clobbered Montague with a left hook to the jaw. It was a textbook punch. But what was weird is that Montague didn’t immediately go down. No. He swung his right, missed, lost his footing, and then fell to the canvas.
Obviously I’m not implying anything like the fight was fixed, because that kind of punch was enough to knock out almost anyone. It was just weird seeing Montague continue to stand and throw a punch before finally going down. Weird.
