LeBron James to star in basketball comedy movie with Kevin Hart

LeBron JamesLeBron James is officially going Hollywood.

Deadline reports that James will star in a basketball comedy movie called “Ballers” along with actor/comedian Kevin Hart. Deadline says Hart will co-write the script and then a director will be picked out for the Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment project.

According to Deadline, the movie is about a brother (Hart) who lives in the shadow of his NBA superstar brother (James), but gets the chance to prove himself when he attends a basketball fantasy camp.

The plan is to begin filming next summer when James is in the middle of his offseason.

Ethan J. Skolnick reports that James’ involvement in the project is being spearheaded by Maverick Carter, James’ high school pal and longtime manager. Skolnick says the project is still in development and that no shooting dates have been set yet.

James can become a free agent next summer if he opts out of his contract with the Miami Heat.

If James stars in the movie, he’ll be making the same transition to film as many other NBA superstars. Michael Jordan starred in “Space Jam,” Shaq acted in “Kazaam,” Kevin Durant starred “Thunderstruck,” and Ray Allen was superb in “He Got Game.” Hopefully James’ performance will go down in the Allen category more than the Shaq one.

When Dwight Howard and Kevin Hart take a picture, it turns out like this

Dwight Howard Kevin Hart

Dwight Howard and actor/comedian Kevin Hart both attended Spike TV’s Guy’s Choice Awards over the weekend, and they even took a picture together. As Questlove, the drummer for The Roots, noted when he tweeted the photo, somebody had to get sacrificed. In this case, it was the 6-foot-11 NBA center, not the 5-foot-2 funnyman.

By the way, what is it with Lakers getting their heads cropped out of photos?

Floyd Mayweather had Justin Bieber, Kevin Hart show up at his daughter’s birthday party

Floyd Mayweather Justin Bieber

Floyd Mayweather Jr. and his family just live a much more lavish lifestyle than the rest of us. The undefeated boxer threw his daughter Iyanna a big birthday party on Saturday night to celebrate her turning 13 on Monday. Naturally, Mayweather brought in nothing but the best for his girl. He noted on Instagram that singer Justin Bieber and actor Kevin Hart showed up for the party. We wouldn’t be surprised if the two even performed there.

During an episode of “All Access” before his fight with Robert Guerrero, Mayweather was shown spending some quality time with his daughter (the fact that cameras were recording it all didn’t ruin the intimacy of the day did it?). He took her to the movies and rented out the entire theater so that it would be private. The whole theater. When you’re a part of The Money Team, this is just how life is.

Below is a photo of Iyanna with Hart:
