Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries Already Having Marriage Problems?

Stop me if this comes across as a surprise: Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries reportedly are already having marriage problems. The National Enquirer says the unemployed basketball player is unhappy with his wife’s spending habits, and that he’s uncomfortable with all the attention from the reality show.

“Kris thought he could handle living with his every move followed by a reality TV camera crew – but now he is having second thoughts,” an insider told the Enquirer.

“He believed Kim’s hunger for the spotlight would tail off after the wedding, but it’s just gotten worse. He thinks she is more obsessed with being famous than having a happy marriage.”

The pro basketball player is starting to believe “he is nothing more than a prop for Kim’s photo ops,” noted the source.

Humphries reportedly is also upset that Kim spends so much money on her appearance, and that she won’t wear the same outfit more than once. Humphries’ position makes sense, but there’s a contradiction: Kardashian’s livelihood depends on her appearance, so it actually pays off to waste money on different outfits each day.

Humphries also isn’t the only basketball player in the Humphries family who got tired of the reality show; if he listened to Lamar Odom, he would have avoided these problems.

But seriously, what do you think you’re getting yourself into when you marry Kim Kardashian? There’s no room for regrets, or sympathy, Kris.

Kris Humphries Rejected by Kansas for Being ‘Absolute Jerk,’ Ex-Jayhawk Says

One of pop culture’s biggest mysteries is how a fairly nondescript basketball player like Kris Humphries ended up with a Hollywood bombshell like Kim Kardashian. Based on this story, we may finally have our answer.

In an upcoming book about Kansas basketball called Beyond the Phog, former Jayhawks guard Keith Langford explains why Kris Humphries, who was a top high school recruit, was turned down by Kansas.

Big Shocker! Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries Trying to Get a Reality Show

In a move Stevie Wonder could have seen coming, Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries are trying to get a reality show picked up. Keep in mind, this show would be in addition to Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Here are the details from Hollywood Life via The Basketball Jones:

“Kim and Kris have been filming different parts of their lives, including wedding prep, but their show hinges on Kris’s contract negotiations,” an insider close to the production tells us. “Currently he’s a free agent, but it all depends on what teams he ends up with and their rules for their players and outside commitments.”

Our source adds, “If he is given time and the okay, he and Kim will do their own show. But if his other obligations force him to not film as much, then they will just put all the stuff they’ve shot toward Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”

If the issue of time commitments sound familiar, it’s because those were the same problems Lamar Odom faced. Remember when he wanted to quit his reality show three days after they began filming? Now the easy answer is that Humphries is a bench warmer anyhow, so a reality show won’t really cut into his job as a basketball player.

Kim Kardashian-Bret Lockett Cheating Story Just Buzz for New Season of Show

One of the hottest stories Wednesday was the report from In Touch Weekly that Kim Kardashian was caught cheating on fiance Kris Humphries. This is the exact sort of “bombshell” intended to make teenyboppers and housemoms gasp incredulously while running to the supermarket to pick up their copy of the fake news. In reality, the extent of Kim’s sins depends on your definition of cheating, because the report says she had phone sex and flirted with New England Patriots safety Bret Lockett over text message. Not only is it not the sort of cheating they would like you to believe, it also seems to be all-too-perfectly timed.

The newest season of Keeping up with the Kardashians premieres on Sunday. The engagement to Kris Humphries is a nice new story line for the show, but is it juicy? It’s a change, but I’m not so sure it’s titillating. Not only that, it’s also two weeks old, which might as well be 10 years ago in our ever-changing digital age. The Kardashians needed something big — something huge — an “oh my god” controversy to make everyone tune in Sunday to see what’s going on with the family. They needed just the type of story In Touch published.

When you think about it, is texting someone else that bad? I would consider it wrong, but if it’s old news, it probably already was addressed by the couple. Do you really think Wednesday was the first time Humphries heard about Bret Lockett? Of course not — we’re not that stupid.

The magazines and the entertainers work hand-in-hand; they need each other in order to survive. The celebrities crave the attention and relevance that comes with being on the cover of a magazine. The magazines and websites are dying for exclusive stories that will generate traffic and sales. As long as they get an inside scoop (like Kimmie cheating), what do they care if they’re being used to generate buzz for the show?

You really think they weren’t in on this story together?

Kim Kardashian Alerted Reggie Bush About Her Engagement to Kris Humphries

Kim Kardashian announced to the world Wednesday that she and long-time boyfriend athlete of the month Kris Humphries were getting engaged. They kept the details of how he popped the question private in order to preserve the romance of their relationship.

They made sure everyone knew exactly how the whole thing went down, telling People Magazine Humphries spelled out “Will you marry me?” with rose petals in her bedroom. She said yes (but not until getting a jeweler to confirm the diamond was over 20 karats), and they celebrated with two mini-horses decorated with glitter. Got that? Unicorns and glitter. Unicorns and freaking glitter. This is your life, Kris Humphries.

Anyway, the worst part of the story — aside from the mini-horses and glitter — is that Kim K. supposedly told ex-boyfriend Reggie Bush about the news before they made the announcement. Obviously we’re supposed to believe this was done out of consideration, but there’s no way that conversation went anything other than “You F***ed up. You see what you could have had if you popped the question? Now it’s too late.”

Think about this for a second — it was only a year ago that Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush had split up, and it was only September that she split up with Miles Austin. Apparently all you needed to marry her was a gigantic engagement ring and a playing contract with a professional sports team. I’m sure that’s no problem for Kris Humphries. After all, how can one not be exciting about being part of this the rest of his life?
