Lolo Jones: I miss my nice bobsled butt

lolo-jones-butt

Lolo Jones has always been in tremendous shape, which is hardly a surprise considering she is both an Olympic hurdler and bobsledder. However, you might be surprised to hear that Jones actually prefers the physical condition she was in when she was training for the Winter Olympics over where she is at right now.

During an interview with The Post Game earlier this week, Lolo said she wishes she could get her bobsled butt back.

“It was really tough just because I thought I’d be able to lose all the weight and I didn’t, you know, so I’m still about seven, eight pounds overweight,” Jones said, via a transcription from Fox Sports. “At first I had that nice bobsled butt that I worked so hard to get, and I was like, ‘Yes, this is going to stay, and then like, all this other stuff is going to go.’ And it was like, the butt was the first thing to go, and I was like, ‘Nooooo!’ That was the one thing I wanted to stay.”

Jones has always looked pretty chiseled to me, but she obviously has her own standards. Prior to today, I had no idea there was a difference between a bobsled booty and a hurdling booty. I love learning new stuff on Fridays.

Lolo Jones takes shot at Rihanna, gets blasted for it

Drake signed on to host the 2014 ESPYs earlier this week. As expected, there have been a variety of opinions about whether he will be the right man for the job. The most viral opinion following the announcement has come from Lolo Jones, who decided to take a shot at Rihanna after hearing the big news.

For those of you who don’t keep up on gossip, Drake and Rihanna were supposedly “all over each other” at a club recently and were spotted making out. They also both attended a recent Los Angeles Clippers game.

US bobsledder Chuck Berkeley criticizes Lolo Jones

Lolo Jones bobsled

You know it would only be a matter of time before someone notable criticized USA Bobsled and Skeleton for choosing Lolo Jones as one of the three push athletes to represent the country at the Winter Games in Sochi. On Tuesday, it was bobsledder Chuck Berkeley who voiced his opinion.

Berkeley, who competed in the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver, criticized officials for choosing Jones over three other push athletes. Jones and pilot Jazmine Fenlator ended up 11th after the first half of competition Tuesday. Here’s what Berkeley said:

This trend seems to follow Jones whether she’s bobsledding or doing track and field. Remember during the Summer Games in London when her teammates were jealous of her popularity? Then last month some bobsledders who didn’t make the team complained that Jones made it because of her popularity.

I guess the only way Lolo will get rid of her critics is by medaling. She has her work cut out for her to achieve that.

Plus, I counted at least three times where their sled hit the rails. Last I checked, Lolo wasn’t steering the rig.

US bobsledders: Lolo Jones made team because of her popularity

Lolo-Jones-bobsledLolo Jones is fairly new to the bobsled scene, yet the track and field star managed to earn a highly sought after spot on the US women’s team for the Winter Olympics in Sochi. Jones earned the third and final brakeman spot, sparking some controversy among the Olympic community. Simply put, some of her teammates think Lolo is going to Sochi because of her popularity.

Emily Azevedo, one of the athletes who was in the running for the spot that was given to Jones, was very candid in speaking with USA Today Sports on Thursday.

“I should have been working harder on gaining Twitter followers than gaining muscle mass,” she said.

As we know, Jones’ openness about her virginity and outgoing personality have landed her endorsement deals and appearances on late night talk shows. Katie Eberling, another brakeman who did not make the final cut, feels the same was as Azevedo.

Lolo Jones on a 9,000 calorie diet to gain weight for bobsledding

Lolo Jones is living the kind of life most people would envy: she’s consuming thousands of calories per day in an effort to put on weight. In fact, Jones has been tweeting about her mission to put on some muscle as she prepares for US Olympics team bobsledding trials in two weeks.

Two weeks ago, Jones goofed around and asked on Twitter if anyone else was on a 9,000 calorie diet.

Since then, she’s been keeping her followers updated on her struggle to consume 9,000 calories each day.

Lolo Jones will only block you on Twitter when it’s that time of the month

Lolo Jones

Lolo Jones has built a reputation as one of the more entertainer athletes to follow on Twitter. Case in point: when one of her followers thanked her for not blocking him on Twitter, she cracked a joke about the crimson tide — and we’re not talking Alabama football.

The follower made the remark to Lolo in the context of ESPN’s 30 for 30 Title IX documentary “Branded.” In a clip promoting the documentary, Jones says she was entering the London Olympics as the top hurdler in the world but without any sponsors. In order to gain sponsors, she realized she would have to boost her social media following, so she made that one of her priorities. You can see her talk about it in the clip below:

Lolo Jones gets acting role in movie ‘Left Behind’

Lolo Jones Nicky Whelan

Lolo Jones scored a role in a movie and actually has already done her first acting work.

The Olympic hurdler and bobsledder filmed a scene for “Left Behind,” which is due out next year. “Left Behind” comes from the Christian book series, and it will star Nicolas Cage, Chad Michael Murray, Nicky Whelan, and Jordin Sparks.

Jones plays a security guard named Lola and has 10 words. According to Olympics Talk, she filmed her scene on Monday.

Jones mocked herself for the small role using her typical self-deprecating humor over Twitter:

The movie’s producer and writer, Paul Lalonde, told Olympics Talk’s Nick Zaccardi that Jones was a natural. He also says he included Jones in the film after learning that the talented athlete trains in Baton Rouge, La., which is where they were shooting.

We imagine Lolo was great on set. She’s definitely a comedian, and she already has the drama act down.
