Marcus Jordan reportedly won’t play senior season for UCF

Marcus Jordan, the son of Michael Jordan, reportedly has decided not to play his senior season for Central Florida.

There was speculation that Jordan would not play at the school for his senior season after he did not participate in summer workouts with his teammates. The Orlando Sentinel points out that Jordan may have been leaning toward not playing after losing two friends from the team. Jordan’s older brother, Jeff, left the team in January, and best friend A.J. Rompza finished his career. UCF was also hit with a postseason ban last month that may have contributed to Jordan’s decision.

CBS Sports’ Jeff Goodman reported the news and says Jordan is still scheduled to take classes at the school despite not being interested in playing ball for UCF. Goodman also accounts for the possibility that Jordan could decide to play ball for another school. All UCF basketball players are allowed to transfer without penalty from the NCAA.

Senior-to-be Keith Clanton surprised people by deciding to remain with UCF despite exploring his transfer options. Clanton led UCF with 14.5 points and 8.1 rebounds per game last season.

While keeping Clanton will provide a boost for the team, losing Jordan may also be a good thing. Jordan average 13.7 points per game, but he shot just 37% from the field. He also became a distraction when he made headlines for tweeting an adult film actress, and when he was arrested in Nebraska.

The Orlando Sentinel believes Jordan may pursue business opportunities that may have jeopardized his NCAA eligibility.

Marcus Jordan sacked by the LBS Nut Bag for arrest, smiling in mug shot

Marcus Jordan is in the news again, but this time it’s not for accidentally propositioning an adult film star over Twitter. Instead, Jordan was arrested early Sunday morning for causing a disturbance in front of an Omaha, Neb. hotel. He was in town to watch friend Conor Dwyer compete in the Olympic Swim Trials.

According to a police account given to the Omaha World-Herald, Jordan was approached by an off-duty police officer who was working security for the hotel at about 2:10 a.m. on Sunday morning. Jordan reportedly was “arguing with two females in the hotel driveway and appeared to be very intoxicated.”

The police say Jordan became uncooperative when approached and that multiple “officers were needed to control and handcuff him.”

Obviously he settled down by the time it came to take the mug shot, because he threw on quite the cheeser for it. Let’s also give him credit for making the glasses look cool before Russell Westbrook. But between underage partying in Las Vegas, tweeting porn stars, and getting arrested, Jordan has more than earned his sacking.

Marcus Jordan accidentally propositions pornstar with tweet that was supposed to be a direct message

Once again, Marcus Jordan has managed to embarrass himself via the use of Twitter. By now you would think that the 21-year-old son of His Airness would have figured out how to keep his private life under wraps, but as we all know with a simple click of the wrong button nearly 35,000 people can find out exactly how you’re spending your free time.

On Wednesday morning, the Central Florida guard tweeted at a pornstar who goes by the name Rachel Roxxx. I say she goes by that name assuming Roxxx isn’t her birth name, but what do I know? The tweet was promptly deleted, but fortunately for us Black Sports Online was able to preserve it in time.

Marcus Jordan Sweet Reverse Layup Against Florida (Video)

In a role-reversal scenario Wednesday, Central Florida knocked off Florida 57-54 in Orlando to improve to 6-0. The Knights got 18 points from Marcus Jordan who has been averaging 17 points per game this season. At the rate the sophomore is going, nobody will have to refer to him as “Michael Jordan’s son” any longer. Check out the sweet moves his Baby Airness showed against Florida:

From not to highly touted to college scoring machine, does the story sound familiar? Marcus Jordan already had the name but he is quickly proving he has the game to match the hype. Keep your eye on him — he looks like he’s going to be something.

Marcus Jordan Should Use His Head

Do I care that Marcus Jordan spent $35,000 at the Haze at Aria Resort and Casino in Las Vegas?  No.  Do I care that he’s only 19 years old and was more than likely poppin’ bottles?  No.  If that’s your idea of fun, then go for it.  Just don’t Tweet about it and make it everyone’s problem, forcing Nevada regulators to probe MGM resorts.

If Marcus wants to carry on the family tradition of having a serious gambling problem, that’s certainly his prerogative.  I’m even a fan of the girl he’s shown with in the pictures below, even if it is indeed his ex-girlfriend.  The Marcus Jordan Las Vegas pictures probably would have leaked to the public either way (see James, Lebron), but he needs to learn how to make it more of a challenge for us bloggers to get a hold of them.  Live and learn, young Airness.
