Price is Right contestant suffers ankle injury spinning the wheel (Video)

Game shows like “The Price is Right” may be nerve-wracking, but we wouldn’t exactly call them sports. After some of the injuries we have witnessed this week, however, you could certainly argue that there are physical risks involved with joining Drew Carey up on stage.

On Tuesday, a contestant named Judy on “The Price is Right” suffered a nasty-looking ankle injury while she was spinning the wheel. Here’s a still shot of the moment where the injury took place:

That cannot have felt good. Judy received medical attention and was given some crutches, but she stayed on to compete in the Showcase Showdown before being taken to the hospital for treatment. She lost, but she managed to show everyone that she’s a ferocious competitor. We hope she gets well soon.

OSU OL Brandon Garrett suffers bad leg injury, carted off field

Oklahoma State offensive lineman Brandon Garrett was carted off the field after suffering a leg injury against Missouri in the Cotton Bowl on Friday.

Garrett’s injury occurred in similar fashion to most leg injuries for offensive lineman; someone rolled into him from behind. The junior was blocking downfield and appeared to get clipped by either his teammate or a defender making the tackle.

Hopefully Garrett will recover from his injury in time for his senior season.

Here’s a close look at his leg if you can handle it:

Hockey player Sebastian Courcelles shows off horrific scar after taking skate to face

There are very few injuries in sports that are more terrifying than those involving the blade of a hockey skate. In a recent Ligue Nord-Americaine de Hockey (LNAH) game in Quebec, a player named Sebastian Courcelles took a skate to the face that left him with with a gash that is not for the squeamish. Courcelles’ face looked like it was straight out of a horror movie, and one of his teammates nearly passed out when seeing the wound.

Below you will see an uncensored version of the gash. If you have a weak stomach, you’ve been warned. This is really, really bad:

UAB lineman John Hix suffers nasty leg injury

UAB junior offensive lineman John Hix was carted off the field late in the fourth quarter against Rice after suffering a leg injury. Hix appeared to get tangled up with one of the Rice players and had his right leg bent the wrong direction.

The leg injury was so bad that FOX Sports 1 reportedly declined to show a replay.

You can see how his leg looked below, though we caution that it is nasty:

Jabari Greer suffers nasty leg injury (GIF)

New Orleans Saints cornerback Jabari Greer suffered a leg injury during the first half against the San Francisco 49ers that appeared to be serious. Greer’s leg was put in a brace and he was carted off after he landed awkwardly while breaking up a pass.

We don’t want to speculate as to what the exact injury was, but we can confidently say legs are not supposed to bend the way Greer’s did when he landed.

The 31-year-old veteran has played well this year for a Saints defense that has turned things around under defensive coordinator Rob Ryan. If Greer has to miss an extended period of time, it would be a fairly significant blow.

Steven Stamkos suffers nasty-looking leg injury, gets stretchered off ice (GIF)

Steven-Stamkos-leg-injuryTampa Bay Lightning forward Steven Stamkos suffered a leg injury during the second period of a game against the Boston Bruins on Monday that looked like it could be serious. Stamkos collided with Bruins defenseman Dougie Hamilton in front of his own net and went sliding into the goal. His right leg slammed against the post and his shin appeared to bend a way it is not supposed to bend.

Actually, shins aren’t supposed to bend at all. That’s why the injury looked so brutal. Stamkos tried to get up and skate after suffering the injury but couldn’t put any weight on his leg. He had to be lifted onto a stretcher and taken off the ice. The 23-year-old was taken to a hospital for X-rays.

Stamkos had 14 goals through 16 games for the Lightning this season and has been their best offensive player for several seasons. We have seen him take a puck to the face before and return to the game, so you know the former first overall pick is not soft by any means. If he misses a significant amount of time, it could become a serious challenge for Tampa Bay to remain in first place.

Chris Neil pours blood after taking puck to the face (GIF)

Chris-Neil-bleedingOttawa Senators forward Chris Neil took a puck to the face in the third period of a win over the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday night. Teammate Erik Karlsson went to flip the puck into the attacking zone and it caught Neil near the right eye, leaving a gash that went from above his eyebrow to the bottom of his nostril. There was a lot of blood.

In typical hockey player fashion, Neil missed only a shift and returned after getting stitched up. His new nickname could easily be “Scarface” once the wound heals.

We thought watching players pull out their own teeth was tough, but that made me cringe. I’d probably pass out if I saw that much blood pouring from my face.
