Phil Kessel pounded Powerade during USA’s win over Slovakia (Video)

Phil-Kessel-PoweradeThose of you who crawled out of bed early on Thursday to watch the US men’s hockey team take on Slovakia in the Winter Olympics were treated to a complete blowout. The Americans dominated play from the opening face-off and won 7-1, scoring six goals in the second period alone. But don’t worry, Slovakia, a bottle of Powerade got dominated as well.

Phil Kessel was apparently incredibly thirsty late in the game. We typically see athletes sip a little bit of water or sports drink and spit most of it out so they don’t cramp up, but Kessel said forget all that. He straight up owned that thing. No wonder these guys looked like they were on their own level — superior hydration.

Did Phil Kessel age 15 years and appear on ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?’

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Phil Kessel was apparently on an episode of “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?” recently. Right? The only logical explanation for the image you see above is that Kessel stepped into a time machine, went forward about 15 years, shaved and then was lucky enough to get a chance to compete on the popular game show.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with what Kessel looks like, here’s a recent photo for reference:

Unreal. I didn’t need this guy’s name to be Phil to think he looks exactly like Kessel, but I can’t stop laughing because of it. If any ladies out there want to know what the NHL star will look like after he retires, look no further than this.

Ottawa Fans Put Phil Kessel, Dion Phaneuf Cutouts in Urinals at All-Star Game

Ottawa fans may have been thrilled to host the NHL All-Star Game last weekend, but that doesn’t mean they were about to embrace all the players in the game. The fans held true to their rivalry with Toronto by placing cutouts of Leafs all-stars Phil Kessel and Dion Phaneuf in the urinals. The move may not have been original, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t appreciated. The last time we saw it was when LeBron returned to Cleveland.

As long as no people or trees are being killed, I appreciate some healthy fan rivalries.
