Missouri thief yells ‘Go Cards!’ after robbing bank

Cardinal fever is in the air in Missouri, even for thieves.

A man who robbed a bank in Arnold, Mo., on Friday yelled “Go Cards!” on his way out, according to the FBI.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch says the man went into the First Bank at 3850 Jeffco Boulevard at about 1:15 p.m. Friday, handed a teller a note demanding cash and walked out with money.

He reportedly never showed a weapon, but he did manage to wish the Cardinals well before Game 5 of the NLCS. Either that, or he was expressing support for the Arizona Cardinals before their game against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

The man was described as a 5’7″ white male who looks like he could be in his late 30s. He was wearing glasses, a full beard, and a dark blazer over a dark top.

We’ve seen other amusing examples of thieves expressing support for teams, so this just further proves even criminals are sports fans.

H/T Deadspin

Cardinals fan has hilarious signs taunting Albert Pujols (Pictures)

The Cardinals lost one of the greatest hitters in their franchise’s history last winter, yet they still find themselves two wins away from returning to the World Series to defend their title. Albert Pujols is now an Angel, and the Angels are now mere spectators as four teams fight for a championship. Of course, that means St. Louis fans have to capitalize on the opportunity to harass the man who skipped town to fatten his wallet.

As you can see from the photo above that Big League Stew passed along, a fan stood behind the dugout before Game 3 of the NLCS in St. Louis and held a fantastically original sign to rip on Pujols. He also went with a slightly less original joke on the other side:

Cardinals Fan Taunts Nyjer Morgan with Poster, Fails (Picture)

Even though the Cardinals have already eliminated the Brewers from the postseason, Milwaukee antagonist Nyjer Morgan remains a popular figure in St. Louis. Fans who hung out behind the Baseball Tonight set outside Busch Stadium after Game 1 of the World Series were chanting his name relentlessly. And of course there was the one pea-brained Cardinals fan who thought he’d be smart and taunt the Brewers center fielder by pointing out that Milwaukee was at home, while St. Louis played on. Only one problem: might want to brush up on your spelling before you try to make fun of someone.

Fail.
