Terrell Owens marries girlfriend Rachel Snider

Terrell-Owens-girlfriend-Rachel-SniderFor the first time in his life, 40-year-old former NFL wide receiver Terrell Owens is married. A person’s first wedding (oftentimes their last) is typically an extravagant event where friends and family gather to celebrate the union of two people. Owens and his girlfriend Rachel Snider opted to exchange their vows in secrecy.

Owens and Snider, a postal worker from Texas, reportedly got married recently at a courthouse in Norwalk, Cali. According to TMZ, the couple breezed in and out of the courthouse and did not even take the time to exchange rings. TO quietly obtained a marriage license sometime around the New Year, so it is no surprise that he and Snider kept the wedding low key as well.

Based on what we have gathered from Twitter, it appears that Owens and Snider have been dating since at least last month. They have ultimately kept their relationship under wraps and been able to remain out of the public eye.

While this is TO’s first marriage, he has four children from previous relationships and has had issues with child support payments in the past. Snider also has a child. We wish them the best.

Terrell Owens reportedly marrying girlfriend Rachel Snider, a postal worker

Terrell-Owens-girlfriend-Rachel-SniderTerrell Owens has supposedly been dating a young lady named Rachel Snider for quite some time now, though the two have managed to do an effective job of staying out of the public eye. While this may shock you, it is possible for a couple to take their relationship to the next level in 2014 without plastering photos all over Instagram. According to TMZ, Owens and Snider recently got engaged.

Owens has reportedly obtained a marriage license in LA which shows he is planning to get married to Snider, who TMZ reports is a 33-year-old postal worker from Texas. Snider shared a photo on Twitter on New Year’s Eve of what is believed to be her engagement ring.

Snider has been posting stuff about TO on Twitter since at least last March, so it appears the two have been dating since then. Most of those tweets complimented Owens about his modeling shots after he signed with a modeling agency.

TO has children with several women and has had child support issues in the past. He and Snider are not believed to have any children together.

Terrell Owens: Kyle Orton gives Cowboys better chance to win than Tony Romo

Terrell-Owens-cryingKyle Orton will start in place of Tony Romo for the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. Given Romo’s history of choking and the fact that the game will decide which team advances to the playoffs, some people feel that Orton may actually give Dallas a better chance to win. Terrell Owens is one of those people.

We all remember the infamous “that’s my quarterback” press conference where TO had tears streaming down his face in defense of Romo, but he’s going with the numbers in this situation.

“My thing with Romo is he’s been inconsistent late in ballgames,” Owens said during an appearance on the NFL Network. “Going into a situation like this you don’t have him No. 1. With Tony Romo you kind of already know what to expect. Late in the game it’s a toss-up.

“So if you look at what Kyle Orton has done — he’s done more with less. In this situation, I think the uncertainty with (the Eagles) not playing against Orton, he has an edge.”

Prior to Owens presenting his argument, NFL Network showed a few statistics about Romo’s play in clutch situations versus Orton’s play. Since 2008, Orton has throw a touchdown pass every 13.7 pass attempts in the final five minutes of the fourth quarter. Romo has thrown a touchdown pass every 28.7 pass attempts in the same situation. Orton has thrown one interception every 40.1 pass attempts in the final five minutes, and Romo has thrown one every 20.1 attempts.

Terrell Owens competing in PBA World Series of Bowling

terrell-owensTerrell Owens still thinks he could be playing in the NFL, but since no teams have shown interest in him for a while, he’s turned his attention to bowling.

T.O. has been heavily focused on bowling for at least the past year. He is a part owner of the Dallas Strikers of the new Professional Bowlers Association League. He made his semi-pro debut competing in the United States Bowling Congress Open Championship in May. Now he’s trying to qualify at the PBA World Series of Bowling.

The event will be held this weekend at the South Point hotel in Las Vegas and Owens is hoping to qualify, though he doubts he’ll make it past qualifying. Owens claims his high game is 288. In the summer, he had an average of 167 at the United States Bowling Congress Championship. That’s not bad, but it certainly doesn’t seem to be professional level.

Owens, 39, hasn’t played in the NFL since suffering a knee injury while with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2010. Those who follow him on Twitter know many of his tweets are bowling-related these days. And for those living in the LA-area, chance are you might run into TO if you head out to Corbin Bowl or Woodlake in the West Valley.

Terrell Owens wants to play for the New England Patriots

Terrell-Owens-Says-Bengals-Are-TerribleTerrell Owens has likely played his last snap in the NFL. The more time that passes, the less likely the six-time Pro Bowler can expect to be taken seriously. After all, TO has not appeared in a regular season since he was with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2010.

However, Owens is not giving up hope. He has taken note of the fact that the NFL has become an increasingly pass-happy team and that several teams are struggling to find reliable receiving targets. One of those teams is the New England Patriots.

“Obviously the situation with the Patriots, they are starting out with a lot of new guys,” Owens told Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe. “You never know how management is thinking, what their process is as far as bringing in veterans.

“I understand they may look at my age as an issue but I’m not your average 39-year-old. I think if you watch me work out, I’m not really concerned about injuries or anything like that. Plus, I’ll be getting paid the vet minimum, so it’s not like I am asking for any extra incentive in my contract.”

Over the summer, TO said he is hoping for another chance but will retire if it does not come in 2013. He told Washburn he is a “different person than I was 10 years ago” and once again reiterated that he would not be a distraction and would strictly be looking to contribute to a winning cause. While Owens said he would love to play for any team, he made a specific pitch to the Patriots.

“Tom Brady has a lot of young guys and I’m sure he could use some veteran help and I would love to play for a guy like Bill Belichick and play with a quarterback like Tom,” he said. “They are going to try to win by [receiving] committee. Coach Belichick is a smart guy that has won with not necessarily a main receiver. Aside from when Randy [Moss] played there, they’ve really had a lot of guys to produce as a committee. That’s where I could possibly fit in.”

Patriots fans would likely be all for it. Through the first two weeks of the season, we have seen rookies like Aaron Dobson and Kenbrell Thompkins consistently drop passes and run the wrong routes. Of course, fans don’t make roster decisions. TO caught passes from Tom Brady at USC over the summer, so you know the two are at least associates. If the Patriots haven’t had him in for a workout yet, there probably isn’t any interest.

Terrell Owens suing Drew Rosenhaus

Terrell-Owens-Media-Created-Character-IssuesWhen all else fails, just sue your agent. That appears to be the plan Terrell Owens has in place at the moment, as he is suing agent Drew Rosenhaus and his brother Jason Rosenhaus.

According to Rand Getlin of Yahoo! Sports, Owens is suing the Rosenhaus brothers for breach of fiduciary duty, fraud and negligence. He is seeking to recover up to $6.5 million by contending that Rosenhaus introduced him to financial advisor Jeff Rubin, who allegedly lost millions of Owens’ money.

The lawsuit alleges that the now-banned Rubin had several red flags surrounding his name that Rosenhaus failed to warn TO about. Owens claims that Rubin lost him $5 million in bad investments and cost him another $1.5 million in money that could have been made if it was invested in property.

“Terrell trusted Rosenhaus when he recommended that Terrell hire Rubin as his financial adviser,” Owens’ attorneys, Curtis Carlson and Chase Carlson of Miami-based Carlson & Lewittes, P.A said. “It is completely ridiculous that Rosenhaus would refer a five-time Pro Bowler to a financial advisor who has been accused of stealing from his clients in the past, whose college degree was in Exercise Science, and who was inexperienced. Rosenhaus should have steered Terrell away from Rubin, not toward him.”

Rubin was banned from working in the financial industry by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority in 2012 for steering a number of clients toward a failed Alabama casino project. The project lost more than $40 million and received investments from 32 current and former NFL players — 18 of which were one-time Rosenhaus clients.

Detailed claims that TO and his attorney have laid out against Rosenhaus can be read here. The 39-year-old Owens has been dealing with a number of financial issues over the past several years, including missed child support payments. He has tried to return to the NFL with very little luck, only coming close with the Seattle Seahawks last summer.

Terrell Owens’ agent talking with a ‘bunch of teams’

Terrell OwensTerrell Owens has a new agent, and that agent is working hard to get the former All-Pro a job in the NFL.

Owens’ agent, Jordan Woy, told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that he has had conversations with “a bunch of teams” about bringing in Owens for a tryout. Nothing has been set up for Owens, but Woy says teams have told him they may reach out if they have an injury.

T.O., now 39, is still training and working out with the hope of getting another NFL shot. He has not been associated with an NFL team since the Seattle Seahawks cut him before the season began last year. He has not caught a pass in the NFL since the 2010 season.

Owens said in June that he would retire if he doesn’t get another chance. We believe he is unlikely to catch a pass in the NFL for the rest of his life, but at least the guy is working out, staying in good shape, and maintaining hope. Remember, like they said in “Shawshank Redemption,” hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things.

Also, I’m guessing “reached out to a bunch of teams” would have been a more appropriate way to term this than “talking with a bunch of teams.”
