Maria Sharapova on Evian U.S. Open water bottle despite suspension
Maria Sharapova cannot play in the U.S. Open because of her suspension for using a banned substance, but that does not mean she won’t be used to promote the official water sponsor of the tournament.
An LBS tipster sent in this photo of an Evian water bottle featuring Sharapova’s mug on the wrapper. Evian is one of the few sponsors who did not cut ties with Sharapova in light of her suspension for using meldonium. Nike and Porsche initially suspended their deals with her, while TAG Heuer dropped Sharapova. But Evian did stand by Sharapova, and you can see the evidence on this bottle.
Sharapova may be suspended from playing in the U.S. Open, but she can be found on the bottles of the tournament’s official water supplier.
