Wrestler Booker T running for Mayor of Houston in 2019
Famous wrestler Booker T is looking to become the latest from his sport to launch a successful career in politics.
Booker T. Huffman Jr. announced on Twitter Tuesday that he is going to run for Mayor of Houston in 2019. The concept first arose on his radio show on Sports Radio 610 in Houston, and after doing some research and serious thinking, he says he plans to seriously pursue the goal.

Booker T was inducted into the Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2013. The 51-year-old was especially known for his time in WCW, where he held 21 titles.
Booker T grew up in Houston and even has an armed robbery record there from his time prior to his wrestling career. But he turned his life around completely and became one of the most well-known wrestlers.
Booker T is looking to join Jesse Ventura as a wrestler who was successfully elected to public office.
