The New York Yankees ace found the perfect opportunity to throw shade at a female Boston Red Sox fan named Rusey, who called him “ugly” during an appearance on the “Section 10” podcast in early September.
After New York completed a sweep of the Red Sox in the American League Wild Card Round with a 9-2 win on Wednesday at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, N.Y., Schlittler celebrated with his teammates and later hopped on social media to get back once again at the aforementioned Red Sox supporter.
“Wat the 4’s gotta say now,” Schlittler commented on the Yankees’ Instagram post.
It referenced his previous response to the same fan, calling her a“solid 4 with oversized sunglasses.”
Schlittler later deleted that post, but the new one is still up at the time of this writing. It’s also now been saved by the internet.

Schlittler grew up a Red Sox fan in Massachusetts, but he’s gotten the ire of Boston fans for his excellence on the mound against their team and his willingness to engage trolls online, usually Red Sox supporters.
In 2025, he blanked the Red Sox for eight innings, while striking out 12 in a 4-0 Yankees win in Game 2 of their wild-card series. On Tuesday, he stymied Boston again, allowing zero earned runs and just two hits, while fanning 10 hitters in 6.1 innings of a 9-0 win in Game 1.
