Clayton Kershaw removed any doubt about his future plans Monday as he confirmed that he will return for at least one more season.

In an appearance on FOX’s NLCS pregame show, Kershaw said he plans to “give it a go” next year despite dealing with more injury issues in 2024.

“I had some tough luck with my foot this year, but I want to make use of the surgery. I don’t want to have surgery and then shut it down,” Kershaw said. “I’m going to come back next year and give it a go and see how it goes.”

Kershaw battled a toe injury down the stretch that ultimately required surgery, forcing the Dodgers to rule him out for the playoffs. He made seven starts before going down for the year, posting a 4.50 ERA in 30 innings of work.

Kershaw re-signed with the Dodgers before the start of the season and has a $5 million player option for 2025. Based on these comments, he intends to exercise that.
