Blake Griffin standup comedy was actually pretty funny (Video)

Blake-Griffin-comedy

Blake Griffin recently hosted a comedy show in Montreal called the “Just for Laughs” festival, and he did his own 10-minute standup routine before introducing the actual comedians. Believe it or not, it was pretty damn funny.

Griffin spent some time talking about how bad professional athletes sound in interviews, noting that anyone would sound like an idiot if they were interviewed after two consecutive hours of working out. He also spent a good portion of the act talking about strip clubs.

Griffin, who says he has always felt awkward at strip clubs, really got the crowd going.

“I got skipped over on that gene that made me good at being at strip clubs or even enjoy being at strip clubs,” he said. “I lock up, I get anxious, I get nervous and I do that thing where I tell the stripper, ‘Oh, you don’t have to dance, it’s cool. We can just talk or whatever, it’s cool. You work hard, I work hard.’

“Really, I blame my dad for that for staying with my mom after all these years. I get that he wanted to be with her, but he didn’t have to treat her with so much f—ing respect.”

There were actually times during the routine where it seemed like you were watching someone who does comedy for a living, not an NBA player. We knew Griffin had a sense of humor based on tweets like this, but it’s not easy to perform for a crowd like that. Nicely done, Blake.
