Bucks acquire George Hill in trade with Cavaliers

The Milwaukee Bucks are bolstering their roster as they look to solidify their place among the top teams in the Eastern Conference.

The Bucks have acquired George Hill and Sam Dekker in a trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski says Matthew Dellavedova, John Henson, and two draft picks are going to Cleveland in the deal. The picks are said to be a first and second-round pick in 2021.

Hill, 32, was averaging 10.8 points per game this season for the rebuilding Cavs. He missed time in November with a shoulder injury. He is making $19 million this season and his $18 million salary next season is not guaranteed. Dekker, 24, has been out with an ankle injury and is not much of a factor when healthy.

Dellavedova and Henson are just bench players for the Cavs. Dellavedova was hardly playing with Milwaukee and averaging just 8 minutes per game. Henson has averaged 5.6 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. The two will combine to make around $19 million next season.
