Charles Barkley discusses Michael Jordan’s insane golf bets
Michael Jordan has a reputation for being a big gambler, but just how crazy of a gambler is he? Charles Barkley gave us an idea.
Barkley joined “The Dan Patrick Show” on Thursday and talked about some of his old golf games with MJ.
Barkley confirmed to DP that Jordan will only play golf for money. He says it’s for thousands or hundreds of thousands of dollars per hole. Barkley even shared a funny story about how he’d be putting for a few hundred bucks, while Jordan would be playing for $300,000 on a putt.
For many $300,000 is what they make over the course of several years. For Jordan, it’s nothing because he makes so much money.
Barkley also talked about his gambling habits, which he’s never hid. Barkley estimates he’s won a million dollars in Las Vegas on about five occasions, but he’s dropped that much many more times, mostly because he gets it in his head that he won’t quit until he makes $1 million.
It’s too bad Barkley and Jordan are no longer friends, because that deprives us of these kinds of stories. Luckily there still are these videos around to prove that MJ bets in golf — even with fans.
