Clippers had team meeting after embarrassing loss to Grizzlies

The LA Clippers have some issues to work through right now, and the first step for them appears to be making sure that everyone gets with the program.

Clippers big man JaMychal Green revealed Sunday that a team meeting was held after an embarrassing 140-114 loss at home to Memphis the day before.

“We had a team meeting and talked to each other,” said Green, per Miriam Swanson of Southern California News Group. “We really been embarrassed losing like we did yesterday. We had to pull together defensively. We’re getting on the same page.”

The disastrous showing against the Grizzlies was perhaps the worst loss of the season for the Clippers, as they looked out of sorts at best and uninterested at worst, especially on the defensive end. While Sunday’s game in which they gave up 132 points in a narrow win over the New York Knicks wasn’t that much better, the Clippers at least seemed a bit more cohesive, even with Kawhi Leonard sitting out the second end of the back-to-back.

Through it all, the Clippers are still an excellent 26-12 on the year and sit just 3.5 games behind the cross-arena rival Los Angeles Lakers for the best record in the West. They could be trying to make an upgrade via trade, but there is enough talent on this team as is to right the ship in time for the postseason.
