Several fans could not help but find humor in Joel Embiid’s recent altercation with a reporter.

Embiid reportedly shoved a columnist Saturday following the Philadelphia 76ers’s 124-107 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pa. The former NBA MVP was believed to be upset over a column the reporter had written that had referenced both Embiid’s son and late brother Arthur.

The column took aim at Embiid for not being healthy to start the 2024-25 season. Embiid has yet to play this year due to a lingering knee injury.

The NBA announced that it is looking into the incident, making it the second time Embiid has been the subject of a league investigation this season.

Some fans joked about Embiid piling on more investigations than actual points scored or minutes played.

Embiid has also been called for a technical foul this season for waving a towel from the 76ers’ bench during the team’s overtime win over the Indiana Pacers last week.

Embiid remains out due to what the 76ers have called “left knee injury management.”
