Report: Goran Dragic could end up with top title contender

Goran Dragic looking on

Goran Dragic’s pursuit of an NBA title in 2020 was spoiled by injury. But he could be getting another bite at the apple this year.

Fred Katz of The Athletic reported on Tuesday that the Toronto Raptors are looking to move Dragic but that people around the league believe a buyout is likelier. Katz adds that the Milwaukee Bucks (plus the Dallas Mavericks) are a potential landing spot for Dragic if he does get bought out.

The Mavs had previously been linked to Dragic already, but the Bucks are a new and noteworthy inclusion. Milwaukee is the defending champions, and they need more depth in the backcourt. The Bucks were also recently mentioned as a suitor for this other veteran point guard.

As for Dragic, he made just five appearances for Toronto this season before taking an indefinite leave of absence from the team in November. He has yet to return to the Raptors since, making it seem like his tenure with them will soon be over one way or the other. Of course, Dragic would probably like to end up with this familiar team if given the choice. But the defending champs would pose an intriguing alternate scenario for Dragic to at least consider.
