James Harden dismisses injury concerns after poor Game 6

James Harden played a game to forget in one of the most important situations of his career.

The Houston Rockets MVP candidate scored just 10 points, committed six turnovers, and fouled out in Houston’s inexplicable 39-point series-ending loss to the Spurs on Thursday night.

His lethargic and lackluster performance left many to wonder what was going on. It was even a question during Harden’s postgame news conference, and the Rockets star refused to blame an illness, injury, or anything else for his dud.

Asked to give an explanation for the blowout, Harden didn’t offer much.

Rockets head coach Mike D’Antoni was similarly straightforward.

On one hand, you kind of wish that something could explain why he did so poorly. On the other, at least Harden is taking responsibility and not making excuses.
