Jaren Jackson Jr. out at least two weeks with knee injury

The Memphis Grizzlies’ battle for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference may have hit a significant roadblock due to a key injury.

The Grizzlies center will be re-evaluated in two weeks after spraining his knee Friday night against the Los Angeles Lakers. That rules Jackson out of key games against the Rockets, Clippers, and Lakers, among others.

As it stands, the Grizzlies have a 3.5 game lead on the Trail Blazers and Spurs for the final playoff spot in the west. This could certainly impact that. Jackson has been a key player for Memphis this season, averaging 16.9 points per game in 54 games this season while being a key defender as well. His absence could certainly afford some of the trailing teams the opportunity to gain some ground and tighten the playoff race down the stretch.
