Joel Embiid gets loudly booed by Knicks fans before Game 5
New York Knicks fans made their feelings about Joel Embiid extremely clear.
Knicks fans loudly booed Embiid during introductions before Game 5 of the Eastern Conference first-round playoff series between New York and the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday.
Loud boos for Joel Embiid during intros. Haven’t heard them reach this level during intros since Kristaps Porzingis’ first game back at MSG: pic.twitter.com/74KqOxj0kB

The game took place at Madison Square Garden, so it’s no surprise the home fans booed Embiid. But Embiid was even hearing negative chants during Philly’s home game on Sunday.
Embiid’s 76ers entered Game 5 down 3-1 in the series. The 2023 NBA MVP has become the target of Knicks fans for seemingly committing dirty plays throughout the series.
Embiid also is the Sixers’ best player, and you know what Reggie Jackson said about players being booed — fans don’t boo nobodies. Maybe Embiid should consider it a badge of honor.
