Watch: Kevin Durant breaks silence by lashing out at media

Kevin Durant Warriors

Kevin Durant broke his silence by lashing out at the media on Wednesday night.

Durant had gone silent towards the media for several days, not wanting to answer questions relating to his free agency and the rumors that he may go to the New York Knicks.

He decided to finally speak following the Golden State Warriors’ 141-102 win over the San Antonio Spurs, and it didn’t go well. Durant personally belittled reporters, questioning their importance and why he should deal with them.

Durant is a great player but terrible when it comes to managing his public perception and the media. There was no call for his behavior, and he pretty clearly showed he has no understanding about the importance of the media in helping generate buzz and fan interest for the league. Dealing with the media is part of his job.

He could have ended everything by just saying he’s focused on winning a championship with the Warriors this season and that’s it. Instead, he got petty and targeted an individual writer and said he didn’t get Kristaps Porzingis traded. Everything he said makes it feel like the opposite is all true.
