Report: Kevin Durant could be part of sign-and-trade between Nets and Warriors
Kevin Durant is set to join the Brooklyn Nets, but could do so in a sign-and-trade agreement.
According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, Durant could potentially engage in sign-and-trade talks between the Nets and the Golden State Warriors. The purpose, according to colleague Keith Smith, would be to get the Warriors a significant traded player exception.
There's a possibility Kevin Durant will engage in a sign-and-trade swap with Golden State and Brooklyn, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

This would give the Warriors a massive Traded Player Exception to use to find depth for their roster. https://t.co/W337FBBQC0

There had been some chatter earlier Sunday that the Warriors could target D’Angelo Russell in a sign-and-trade with Brooklyn. This doesn’t seem to be their target, but a traded player exception would allow them the chance to add some depth to what will be a somewhat depleted roster next season. Whether the Nets are on board remains to be seen.
