Kevin Durant picks up third technical foul of playoffs
Kevin Durant needs to start watching his technical fouls this postseason.
Durant and JaMychal Green were called for double-technical fouls during the third quarter of Game 3 of the first round playoff series between the Golden State Warriors and LA Clippers. The techs seemed to be called for the players continuing to talk and not letting an issue between them go.
For Durant, that is his third technical foul of the playoffs. That is significant because a seventh tech in the postseason triggers an automatic 1-game suspension.
The NBA could review the techs and rescind them, which should probably happen. Their actions did not seem to warrant techs. The officiating crew in the game made a point to have a tough whistle to make sure things didn’t get out of hand. Both Patrick Beverley and Steph Curry had been called for four fouls through the first 30 minutes of the game.
Curry even was called for this weak foul:
They just gave Steph Curry his 3rd foul for this. What a joke pic.twitter.com/ujdWodk086

As long as they don’t collapse while up 31, the Warriors look pretty unstoppable. Getting themselves suspended is the only thing that can make things much closer for opponents.
