Kris Humphries fires back at Kanye West for song lyric

Back in April, around the same time rapper Kanye West started dating person Kim Kardashian, we told you about a song released by Kanye formerly titled “Theraflu” (now titled “Cold”).

The reason a rap song was discussed on a sports site is because it had a lyric perceived to be a shot at NBA player Kris Humphries, whom the whole world unfortunately knows infamously for being married to Kim K. for five minutes or so in 2011:

“And I’ll admit I fell in love with Kim, around the same time she had fell in love with him. Well that’s cool, baby girl, do your thing. Lucky I ain’t have Jay drop him from the team.”

In case you are not down with the hip-hop crowd these days, I’ll help you out: “Jay” references fellow hip-hop mogul and Kanye’s best friend forever Jay-Z, who owns a minority stake in the Nets.

Flash forward to Tuesday: The Nets continued their spendy offseason by re-signing Humphries, one of the better free agents remaining on the market, to the tune of two years, $24 million. Humphries announced the signing on his Twitter page and threw Kanye’s lyric back in his face:

You just know he was planning that tweet since that song came out. This hopefully will lead to an amusing back-and-forth beef between these two that will probably end in the next month or so when Kanye and Kim inevitably part ways, at which point Kanye and Humphries settle their differences to become united as eskimo brothers in a joint cause trying to rid the world of the insufferable and ceaseless attention-whoredom of one Kim Kardashian. But a guy can only hope.

Here’s the song that started all of this:
