Kristaps Porzingis unlikely to play for Mavericks this season
Excited Dallas Mavericks fans will likely have to wait until next year to see Kristaps Porzingis suit up for their team.
Owner Mark Cuban said Friday that it is unlikely that Porzingis will play this season as he continues to rehab the torn ACL he suffered last year.
Kristaps Porzingis probably will not play for the Mavericks this season as he continues his recovery from a torn ACL in his left knee suffered a year ago, Dallas owner Mark Cuban told ESPN.

Cuban doesn’t rule out Porzingis playing this season, but there’s not a lot of reason to bring him back. The Mavericks are 23-28 and unlikely to be a factor in the playoff race, so there is little to be gained from pushing him to be ready to play before the end of the season, especially since Dallas has acquired him to be a long-term solution for the organization. They will have to square away his long-term intentions first.
