Report: Lakers, Clippers have concerns about Kawhi Leonard’s health
If the San Antonio Spurs decide to trade Kawhi Leonard, they may run into some problems with teams who have lingering questions about his health.
Leonard missed nearly all of the 2017-18 season with a quadriceps injury, and that is a big concern for potential trade partners. According to Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times, both the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers have thus far declined to engage the Spurs in trade talks. That hesitancy stems from ongoing concerns about the health of his quad.
Ultimately, we may have to narrow down Leonard’s potential destinations. He wants to go to Los Angeles, but this, along with the fact that the Spurs aren’t keen on dealing him to a conference foe, may be serious stumbling blocks to a deal. Plus, we still don’t even know if the Spurs will give in to Leonard’s request. This saga could take a while to develop.
