Mike Brown to reportedly interview for Knicks head coaching job

Mike Brown

The New York Knicks are interviewing numerous candidates for their head coaching position, and Mike Brown is the latest to be added to the list.

Brown is scheduled to interview for the Knicks head coaching job, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported on Monday.

Brown is currently in his fourth season as an associate head coach under Steve Kerr with the Golden State Warriors. Unlike some other candidates for the Knicks job, the 50-year-old has extensive experience as a head coach in the NBA. Brown coached the Cleveland Cavaliers from 2005-2010. He then coached the star-studded Los Angeles Lakers for one disappointing season in 2011-12 before returning to the Cavs for a brief second stint.

The Knicks are interviewing a mix of experienced coaches and some younger assistants, but the belief is that one candidate has already emerged as the favorite to land the job.
