Brown is currently in his fourth season as an associate head coach under Steve Kerr with the Golden State Warriors. Unlike some other candidates for the Knicks job, the 50-year-old has extensive experience as a head coach in the NBA. Brown coached the Cleveland Cavaliers from 2005-2010. He then coached the star-studded Los Angeles Lakers for one disappointing season in 2011-12 before returning to the Cavs for a brief second stint.
The Knicks are interviewing a mix of experienced coaches and some younger assistants, but the belief is that one candidate has already emerged as the favorite to land the job.
