Mike D’Antoni cracked funny joke about Warriors players in timeouts
Mike D’Antoni was the head coach of the losing team in Sunday night’s surprisingly entertaining NBA All-Star Game, and he took a funny jab at the Golden State Warriors while describing what the experience was like.
D’Antoni was the coach of the team Stephen Curry drafted, so its no surprise Klay Thompson and Draymond Green also ended up on the squad. When a reporter asked D’Antoni how things went in the huddle during timeouts, he had a very witty response.
Mike D'Antoni on what his huddles were like tonight: "The Golden State guys kept taking my clipboard and trying to draw up plays, and I had to fight them."

Of course, that was D’Antoni’s way of poking fun at the Warriors and Steve Kerr for recently allowing players to coach themselves during timeouts. Footage from a Golden State game last week showed players drawing up plays, with Kerr later explaining that he felt it was a good way to get his guys to focus.
As we mentioned, D’Antoni’s team ended up losing 148-145. Perhaps he should have handed the clipboard over to Curry.
