Russell Westbrook says there is no hate with Kevin Durant
Russell Westbrook says there is no hate between him and Kevin Durant.
Westbrook joined Kevin Hart for the latest installation of “Cold as Balls” from the folks at LaughOutLoud.com, and the two discussed many significant topics. Among them was his relationship with his ex-Oklahoma City Thunder teammate. Hart asked whether there was hate between them.
“Hate? No. Anything that have to do with me and Kevin, they want to put hate, because they want a story. They want to talk about something, but it’s not hate,” Westbrook said.
Among some of the other revelations from episode were Westbrook saying he always wanted to go to Stanford even though he ended up at UCLA. He also said that his triple-double trend just happened and that it wasn’t something he anticipated. He’s currently averaging a triple-double for the third straight season.
Westbrook, who is never short on confidence, said he could beat LeBron James 1-on-1. As for forming a superteam the way James has, Westbrook says it’s not for him.
“Me personally, it’s not my style. I like to compete, I like to go against the best. That’s why I’ve always stayed in Oklahoma City.
OKC actually could have been a superteam if their management hadn’t blown it up. They had him, Durant and James Harden — three MVPs on the same team that they drafted three years in a row.
“I definitely know if we would have stayed together, it could have been a problem, for sure,” Westbrook said.
