Report: Warriors give president Bob Myers multi-year extension

Bob Myers

Ahead of a summer of free agent uncertainty, the Golden State Warriors have reportedly locked up a key piece of their organization structure.

According to Marc Stein of the New York Times, the Warriors and team president Bob Myers have agreed to terms of a multi-year contract extension.

Myers joined the Warriors as an assistant GM in April 2011 and ascended to the GM role a year later. He oversaw the growth and development of the Warriors into a three-time NBA champion, and keeping him around was a no-brainer for the organization.

With Myers locked in for the foreseeable future, he can set to dealing with the contract situations of injured stars Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson, who are putting pressure on the GM ahead of the opening of free agency.
