Jerry Jones could host GGG-Canelo Alvarez fight

Canelo Alvarez interview

Immediately after knocking out Amir Khan on Saturday night, Canelo Alvarez turned his attention to Gennady Golovkin, better known as GGG. Alvarez told fans what they want to hear by issuing a challenge to GGG, and the fight could draw so much interest that Jerry Jones is reportedly considering hosting it.

Jones was in attendance to watch Alvarez beat Khan, and Oscar De La Hoya said after the bout that he is planning to fly to Dallas to discuss the possibility of an Alvarez-GGG fight being held at the home of the Cowboys.

De La Hoya also mentioned Dodger Stadium as a possibility.

The main issue, of course, is weight. GGG fights at 160 and Alvarez has been fighting at the catch weight of 155. Now that Canelo says he is willing to fight at 160, there shouldn’t be much standing in the way.

Alvarez delivered a vicious knockout blow to Khan in the sixth round. You can see a video of the punch here. He gave fans what they wanted both during and after the fight.
