A promo that featured Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair was released earlier this month, leading many to believe it was only a matter of time before the former UFC champion explores a career in pro wrestling. As it turns out, Rousey still hasn’t signed a contract.
Stephanie McMahon, the WWE’s chief brand officer, told TMZ this week that there is an open offer for Rousey.
“Ronda, the offer still stands,” McMahon said. “We’d love to have you in WWE.”
It certainly seemed like a match between Rousey and Flair was being set up when the two cut a promo together, so perhaps there is some sort of hold-up on the business end of things.
Rousey hasn’t said whether she will ever fight again in the UFC, though an Instagram post from January got people talking. McMahon said earlier in the year that Rousey and the WWE would be a match made in heaven, so it’s no surprise she still wants that match to be made.

If the Jacksonville Jaguars need help staying motivated after their surprising 2-1 start, Ric Flair is here to help.
On Friday, Mike Kaye of First Coast News spotted some Jaguars players and staff members wearing T-shirts around that Flair had custom made for the team.

Flair, who is still recovering after health complications caused by alcohol abuse nearly cost him his life, is apparently buying into the Jags hype.
If you remember, there has been some controversy with Flair in past years regarding which NFL team he supports. The Nature Boy is from Tennessee, but he lived in Charlotte for much of his life and became a fan of the Carolina Panthers and other local sports teams. He then cut a promo to help pump up San Francisco 49ers fans, and believe it or not the WWE legend received death threats over it.
The Jaguars demolished the Baltimore Ravens in London last weekend and will travel to face the lowly New York Jets on Sunday. They could very well be 3-1 before the start of next week.
Ric Flair has confirmed that years of alcohol abuse led to his recent health complications, and the WWE legend swears he will never drink again.
Flair was rushed to the hospital on Aug. 11 with severe stomach pains. Doctors discovered that the 68-year-old was in the early stages of kidney failure and on the verge of congestive heart failure, and Flair says the issues with his organs were the direct result of drinking alcohol.
“It scared the s— out of me,” Flair told PEOPLE magazine. “I didn’t think I was an alcoholic, but obviously I was. … I’ll never drink again. I never want to go through this again.”
Flair said he was on life support for 10 days. Doctors placed him in a medically-induced coma and conducted surgery to remove part of his bowels. The Nature Boy also had a pacemaker inserted. He said he is recovering but “not out of the woods yet.”
In an interview with “The Dan Le Batard Show” on Thursday, Flair shared more details about his drinking habit.
“I just drank too much,” he said. “The problem is when I started in the business in 1972, we drove 3,000 miles a week and drank beer, threw the cans out the window and all that stuff — no cops, it was just a way of life. Pretty soon it was drinking the beer and then getting in a hotel and drinking the liquor. It just became a way of life. I never drank while I was working.
“It’d be like putting between 3,700 and 4,000 calories worth of booze, soda, a splash of cranberry in my body every day, like 20 drinks a day.”
Consuming so many beverages laced with sugar, calories and alcohol nearly cost him his life, Flair says. Flair said he turned to alcohol as a way to cope with pain from injuries and the grind of life in pro wrestling, noting that he never took a pain pill.
We have all grown to love the Nature Boy because of his quirky antics and awesome persona. He could have kept his health issues close to the vest, but it’s commendable that he is using them to serve as a warning for others.

Ronda Rousey is destined to take part in a WWE event at some point, and it looks as though her debut could be coming sooner rather than later.
A promo featuring Rousey was released this week, and it seems like the goal was to set up a WWE match between the former UFC champion and Charlotte Flair, the daughter of Ric Flair and a former champ herself.

For those of you who don’t follow wrestling, that was Bayley and Becky Lynch — two more former WWE champions — standing next to Flair. Rousey was with MMA training partners Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir, who along with Rousey and Shayna Baszler have been referring to themselves as “The Four Horsewomen.”
Rousey hasn’t said whether she will ever fight again in the UFC, though an Instagram post from January got people talking. Stephanie McMahon recently said Rousey and the WWE would be a match made in heaven, and it looks like that match has officially been made.
After undergoing an emergency surgical procedure earlier this month, WWE legend Ric Flair is said to be doing well and on the road to recovery.
On Tuesday night, Flair’s fiancee Wendy Barlow revealed on Facebook that The Nature Boy is set to begin physical therapy soon. Barlow described the way Flair bounced back as a “miracle.”

More positive news came Wednesday morning, when Flair (or someone running his Twitter account) tweeted some words of encouragement.

The exact nature of Flair’s health complications remains unknown, but reports say the 68-year-old was placed in a medically-induced coma and had to have a piece of his colon surgically removed because of an intestinal blockage. Flair recently admitted that he has struggled with alcohol abuse, and his drinking habits are believed to have contributed to the health issues.

Ronda Rousey will probably not be paying much attention to the Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor fight, and she has a very good reason for it.
UFC head Dana White said on the Rich Eisen Show that Rousey and Travis Browne are getting married on Saturday, and thus won’t be anywhere near Las Vegas.
White told Eisen that Rousey is “in a good place” and is “really happy,” and that she has not announced her retirement, preferring to focus on her wedding at the moment.
White joked that he had told Rousey he would definitely attend the wedding until he found out the date.
White has said in the past that he thinks Rousey will retire. She certainly could not care less about the premier boxing event happening Saturday.

Brock Lesnar retained his WWE Universal championship at Summer Slam on Sunday after quite a bit of drama.
Lesnar was slammed into the announcers’ table multiple times by Braun Strowman during a 4-way match also involving Roman Reigns and Samoa Joa. Lesnar was eventually carted out on a stretcher in a dramatic moment for the fans.

Despite being taken away, Brock was able to return to the Fatal 4-way match. He ended up pinning Reigns to win it all in a match full of entertainment and intrigue.
Perhaps this was just the warmup before Brock takes on Jon Jones in the octagon.
