Ronda Rousey indicated on her Instagram account Monday that she will be taking a break from WWE to try and get pregnant.
Rousey shared a photo on Instagram of her and husband Travis Browne kissing. The caption included a hashtag “impregnation vacation.”
There had been speculation that Rousey would step away from the WWE after participating in WrestleMania 35, and it appears that was correct. The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer further reported that Rousey broke her hand in the main event, which likely would have caused her to miss time anyway.
Rousey is signed to the WWE through 2021.
Ronda Rousey reached the pinnacle in MMA, becoming a world champion in her weight class. She competed in the Olympics in judo, winning a bronze medal. And on Sunday night, Rousey competed in the main event at WrestleMania — the WWE’s premier event. The 32-year-old has done so much in her career and does not have many more “firsts” to achieve. She seems to recognize that and may be planning to drop off the grid after WrestleMania 35.
Jeremy Botter, an MMA reporter, said on Twitter Sunday night that Rousey is planning to disappear from public life after WrestleMania.
When I say “public life” I mean it literally. She’s going to go off the grid soon and you will not see her for a long time, if ever. https://t.co/GS15KQu1OJ

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard similar talk. Back in January, there were reports saying she would be leaving the WWE after WrestleMania. The thinking is that she would want to try and start a family with husband Travis Browne.
Rousey is reportedly signed with the WWE through 2021, though that wouldn’t necessarily stop her from walking away if that’s what she desires.
It has been nearly a year now since Ronda Rousey signed a contract with the WWE, and rumors have begun popping up that her time with professional wrestling could be coming to an end. Those rumblings are apparently premature, however.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer reported in his latest newsletter that there is a “very good chance” Rousey is planning to make her final appearance with the WWE at WrestleMania 35 in April. According to Daniel Yanofsky of WrestlingInc.com, Meltzer also said on his radio show this week that people within the WWE are operating as if Rousey will not be with the organization much longer.
TMZ contradicted that reporting on Thursday, citing multiple sources who say Rousey is “super happy” with her new career and is not prepared to give it up. A WWE spokesperson also confirmed that Rousey is signed with the company through April 10, 2021.
Rousey said before she made her WWE debut that she wants to start a family in the near future with her husband Travis Browne. It’s possible she may be planning take a break from wrestling so she can do that, but she could still return when things are settled.
Rousey is scheduled to defend her RAW Women’s Championship belt against Sasha Banks at the Royal Rumble PPV on Sunday. For what it’s worth, we have heard everything from Rousey planning to wrestle longer than expected to the former UFC champion not ruling out an MMA return. What she plans to do seems to be anyone’s guess at the moment, but it does not sound like she is leaving the WWE for good.
Ronda Rousey is bringing the heat to Nikki Bella.
Rousey and Bella have been feuding this week ahead of their WWE Evolution match on Oct. 28. Things began when the Bella Twins turned on Rousey last week and beat her up following their victory over The Riott Squad.
Rousey brought her A-game on “RAW” Monday night with a promo she cut in the ring. She went in on Nikki Bella, calling the twins “Do Nothing Bellas.” Rousey then got in the ultimate dig when talking about all the doors she’s knocked down in her career.
“The only door you’ve knocked down was the door to John Cena’s bedroom,” Rousey said.

Cena and Bella dated for several years and got engaged last year, but they broke up and got back together a few times before once again calling things off a couple of months ago. Their relationship issues centered around plans for children.
Ronda Rousey ascended to WWE champion status on Sunday night, but all most people were talking about was her wild eye makeup.
Rousey faced Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam on Sunday night and won to capture the Raw Women’s Championship. She had an interesting look for the match that included braids in her hair and the heavy eye makeup. The eye makeup swept deep across Rousey’s face, just about joining her hair.

Ronda Rousey is enjoying her time in wrestling so much that she may want to do it longer than she planned.
Rousey is set to face Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam on Sunday, just seven months after signing with the WWE. Rousey told ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne that when she signed in January, there was a clear timeline about her commitment to the wrestling company because she intended to start a family with husband Travis Browne. But now that she’s enjoying it so much, that timeline may change.
“We had a set timeline set, and now we aren’t so sure about it because I love it so much,” Rousey told ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne. “I guess that’s the best thing that could’ve happened, that I would love it so much it would be so hard to stop. I can see why people have a hard time leaving this industry because it’s such a joy to be a part of every day.”
That is great news for the wrestling promotion. Rousey is a big draw and interesting name, so the longer she is a part of the company, the better.
Rousey is also balancing somewhat of an acting career. Her movie “Mile 22” is also just now coming out in theaters. And for what it’s worth, Rousey is not ruling out a return to MMA.
Ronda Rousey has been fully focused on her professional wrestling career as she gets set for her big match at WrestleMania 34 next month, but she apparently has not completely closed the book on mixed martial arts. At least, that’s what we gathered from an incredibly awkward interview on Tuesday morning.
While appearing as a guest on “Golic and Wingo,” Rousey was asked about the moment when she finally decided she was finished with her MMA career. She sternly replied that she never said anything of the sort, and things got tense in a hurry. Here’s the exchange:

Golic may have worded his question poorly, but Rousey knew exactly what he was asking. She obviously took advantage of the poor phrasing by acting like she thought Golic was talking about time travel, when it was clear he was asking if she would ever fight in the UFC again.
Rousey is trying to carve out an identity for herself as a no-nonsense enforcer in the WWE, so it’s possible she was also just staying in character during her interview with Golic. Whatever the case, she’s clearly not yet ready to call herself retired from the octagon.
