Baker Mayfield shouts out Kyler Murray for winning Heisman

Baker Mayfield

Baker Mayfield shouted out Kyler Murray after the current Oklahoma quarterback won the 2018 Heisman Trophy on Saturday night.

Murray was one of the three finalists for the honor, along with Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa and Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins. At the end of the hour-plus long program, the Sooners QB was announced as the winner, meaning he went back-to-back with Mayfield, who won it last year for Oklahoma.

Mayfield and Murray are the first teammates to go back-to-back since Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush for USC in 2004 and 2005.

Murray received 517 1st-place votes and a total of 2,167 points. Tagovailoa received 299 1st-place votes and a total of 1,871 points.

Mayfield ended up becoming the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft after winning the Heisman Trophy. Will Murray follow in his shoes or stick with professional baseball, where he was a top-10 pick? He has a heck of a decision on his hands.
