Bret Bielema places punter on ‘extreme timeout’ as punishment

Bret Bielema is so unhappy with his punter that he put the sophomore specialist on “extreme timeout.”

According to SEC Country, sophomore punter Blake Johnson has not been suspended from the Razorbacks football team, but Bielema is not happy with him. The punter was not present for a team scrimmage on Saturday.

“He’s in timeout. He’s in extreme timeout,” Bielema said of Johnson.

So what has Bielema so upset with Johnson?

The player apparently “rolled his ankle in some activities away from football that I’m not very happy about. So I removed him from the program for a little bit.”

Johnson was told to go home to California to take some time away from the program and spend Easter with his family.

Johnson has only been the second-string punter after not living up to expectations upon entering the program. He’s actually getting off lucky with Bielema, as we’ve seen the coach dole out much harsher punishments.
