C.J. Spiller responds to Bobby Petrino’s comments about Death Valley crowd noise
Ahead of the trip, Petrino said at his weekly press conference that he expects the crowd to be similar to that at the Carrier Dome for last week’s game versus Syracuse.
“I think it’s something you look forward to and you enjoy. And to be real honest with you, it’s going to be very similar to last week,” Petrino said via TigerNet.com. “That was a loud place. I don’t know if it can get any louder, even though the crowd wasn’t that big.”
Syracuse lists the attendance for the game against Louisville at 37,569. According to Clemson Athletics’ site, the smallest crowd through their first three home games this season was 78,459 when NC State came to town. It’s certainly reasonable to expect attendance in Death Valley to be in the same vicinity this coming weekend.
Word of Petrino’s comments apparently made it to former Clemson running back C.J. Spiller, who thinks Petrino may be underestimating what he’s in for on Saturday.

I would imagine what Petrino said is making its way around South Carolina at this very moment, so he while he may think the crowd noise may be similar to last week, I can almost assure him it won’t be.
