Feleipe Franks announces transfer to Arkansas

Arkansas Razorbacks

Arkansas’ outlook for the 2020 football season just improved by a whole lot.

Feleipe Franks announced on Instagram Monday that he has transferred to Arkansas. The former Florida Gators quarterback shared a photo on Instagram that showed him in Arkansas gear and had a Razorbacks logo on it. The location was Fayetteville — which is where the school is located, and the caption said “new beginnings.”

This is a big pickup for the Hogs. They were 2-10 last season, and Chad Morris was fired after beginning the season 2-8. Former Texas A&M quarterback Nick Starkel passed for just seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions and is transferring to San Jose State, which will be his third school. Arkansas had five different quarterbacks throw passes last season, and none of them were the answer.

Franks was in his redshirt junior season for Florida in 2019 and suffered a season-ending dislocated and fractured ankle against Kentucky in September. Kyle Trask took over from there and looked so good he will remain their starter.

In 2018, Franks passed for 24 touchdowns and six interceptions.
