Indiana State’s Carlos Aviles ejected for new targeting rule (Video)
Indiana State’s Carlos Aviles was ejected from Thursday’s season-opening game against Indiana for violating college football’s new targeting rule.
Aviles was attempting to cover a punt in the third quarter during the Sycamores’ game against Indiana, but he leveled Shane Wynn before the returner received the punt. The freshman defensive back was called for a flagrant foul and “disqualified” according to the refs. He also will not be able to play in the first half next game because his infraction occurred in the second half.
