JC Copeland loses fumble on sure LSU touchdown (GIF)

There was a huge swing in the first quarter of the LSU Tigers-Alabama Crimson Tide game on Saturday when LSU fumbled on the goal line to ruin what should have been an 86-yard touchdown drive.

LSU had the ball at the Bama three midway through the first quarter of the scoreless game. After motioning Terrence Magee out of the backfield, Zach Mettenberger handed the ball off to fullback JC Copeland for a run to the weak side. Copeland bounced it outside and seemed like he was heading for a sure touchdown, but he was stripped of the ball just before scoring. Bama recovered to take away what would have been a 7-0 lead for the Tigers.
