Jimbo Fisher was not a fan of Kevin Sumlin’s Texas A&M office

Jimbo Fisher

One of Jimbo Fisher’s first priorities at Texas A&M — besides winning, obviously — will be to redecorate the head coach’s office.

According to a story in Dave Campbell’s Texas Football (via The Dallas Morning News), Fisher was not a fan of the way previous Aggies head coach Kevin Sumlin had the office styled.

From the Dallas Morning News:

“It’s like a damn nightclub in here,” Fisher told the magazine, via the Dallas Morning News. “This ain’t gonna be my office.”

According to the story, Sumlin’s old office had dark carpet and black walls, which doesn’t seem to be a vibe Fisher enjoys.

In addition to changing the “nightclub” feel in the office, Fisher ended the music that was playing during practice — which was mostly rap. The players in the program will almost assuredly notice a big cultural difference with Fisher in charge. He has a lot of work to do to live up to the $75 million contract he signed.
